Guided hike Schösswendklamm gorge to Hintersee lake

The guided hike over the Schösswendklamm gorge to Hintersee starts at the Schösswendklamm parking lot or with pick-up at the hotel.

Here, at the bottom of the valley at the Schösswendklamm gorge, water masses have been forcing their way through the rock, consisting of biotite, hornblende and green slate, for thousands of years. This has created interesting erosion forms, potholes and small waterfalls. We follow the gorge to the Hintersee lake and learn interesting facts about the flora and fauna in the Felbertal valley as well as the formation of the Hintersee lake. On the north side of the lake, we follow the circular trail up to a hill with a view over the head of the valley with its imposing rock faces, where chamois cavort, and follow the path back to our starting point.

Ankle-high mountain boots, weatherproof clothing, sufficient drinking water & snacks, recommended for this moderately difficult mountain tour with 710 m
