CURIOSITIES/POINTS OF INTEREST:
- The ancient Fraele Towers (1930 m) were one of the strong points of the system of fortifications that was meant to protect the then Contado from frequent invasions. They were at that time the most advanced outpost of Bormio's defenses and were constantly manned by guards who also looked after the safety of travelers crossing the Via Imperiale d'Alemagna. Indeed, smoke signals were launched from their summit in case possible dangers were spotted.
- The Fraele valley is characterized by the presence of two artificial lakes created by the damming of dams for hydroelectric production and is ideal for tourists looking for easy hiking or mountain biking trails totally immersed in nature. (Val Trela, Val Alpisella, Monte Scale..).
