Tobogganing is an action-packed alternative for non-skiers. One of the coolest and longest toboggan runs in the Zillertal is the 7 km long toboggan run in the Zillertal Arena. From the coolnest, it's a 10-minute drive to the Gerlossteinbahn lift on the Hainzenberg. You can hire a toboggan (i.e. a sledge for 1 or 2 people) directly at the valley station of the gondola for around 8-10 euros. Take the Gerlossteinbahn cable car (ascent 13.50 euros per person, or during the day also possible with a Superskipass) to the starting point on the Gerlosstein. Fun and adrenaline are definitely pre-programmed when tobogganing! If you feel like it, you can stop off for a mulled wine in the rustic Schlittenstadl halfway down the run. The toboggan run is also floodlit in the evening.
Tip: Wear ski trousers / ski jacket or warm winter clothing, don't forget a hat, scarf and gloves and, most importantly, waterproof winter shoes and, if you have them, pack snow goggles or sunglasses.
